These regulations may be corrected, modified, or improved at any time by the Organizing Committee, as may any information, rules, or sections necessary to ensure the optimal execution of the event. By completing the registration process, participants acknowledge and accept these Regulations.

These regulations must be strictly adhered to by all participants in the event known as HUEX GRAVEL. The organisation reserves the right to amend these regulations at any time in order to guarantee participant safety, ensure the proper operation of the event, and adapt to any unforeseen circumstances.<\/p>

HUEX GRAVEL is a long-distance gravel cycling event held in two distinct formats:<\/p>

  • \u2022 HUEX Gravel Ride <\/strong>(self-supported format)<\/p><\/li>

  • HUEX Gravel Race <\/strong>(competitive format)<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

    The route follows gravel tracks, rural roads, and sections of secondary roads that remain open to regular traffic.<\/p>

    All participants must comply with the applicable traffic regulations at all times.<\/p>

    The event takes place in natural and rural environments. Respect for the environment, private property, and local communities is mandatory for all participants.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

    HUEX GRAVEL RIDE<\/h4>

    LONG-DISTANCE SELF-SUPPORTED FORMAT<\/p>

    Participants are responsible for managing their own pace, rest, nutrition, and race strategy within the limits established by the organisation (Check Points and maximum time limits)<\/p>

    There are no organised aid stations as such; only mandatory checkpoints are provided..<\/p>

    This is not a competitive race format in the traditional sense.<\/p>

    HUEX GRAVEL RACE <\/h4>

    Competitive race format.<\/p>

    Mass start, official timing, overall rankings, and category classifications.<\/p>

    Official aid stations are strategically located throughout the course.<\/p>

    This is a gravel race conducted under the applicable sporting regulations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

    Participation in HUEX GRAVEL is restricted to individuals who are at least 18 years of age on the day of the event.<\/p>

    Registration will be considered valid once the official registration form has been completed and the corresponding entry fee has been paid.<\/p>

    Registration is personal and non-transferable.<\/p>

    Participants declare that they are in adequate physical and technical condition to undertake the event category in which they are registered and fully understand the demands of the course and the environment in which the event takes place.<\/p>

    Once registration has been completed, 50% of the registration fee will be refunded up to 30 days before the event. After this date, no refunds will be issued unless the participant has purchased cancellation insurance. <\/span><\/span><\/p>

    At the time of registration, participants may purchase a cancellation insurance policy that allows them to receive a 100% refund of their basic entry fee in the event of withdrawal up to 15 days before the event.
    No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after this deadline. <\/p>

    All refunds will be made within 30 days from the date of acceptance of the request.<\/span><\/p>

    Once a withdrawal request has been submitted, the entry will be released and returned to the Organisation, which may reassign it to the first participant on the waiting list, should one exist at that time.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

    The HUEX Gravel is a non-federated sporting event, so a federation license is not required to participate.<\/p>

    All registered participants will be covered by accident insurance included in the registration fee, which has been purchased by the organizers to provide coverage for the event and is valid exclusively during the official duration of the race, in accordance with the terms of the policy.<\/p>

    This insurance covers medical assistance resulting from a sports accident that occurs during the HUEX Gravel Ride, within the official route and during the time frame established by the organizers.<\/p>

    Registration for the event implies acceptance of the terms and conditions of the insurance policy purchased by the organization, as well as the protocol to be followed in the event of an accident, which will be communicated to all participants before the start.<\/p>

    Each participant is responsible for assessing their own health and physical fitness to tackle a long-distance race on a self-supported basis. The organizers recommend that participants have supplemental personal insurance to cover other contingencies not included in the event\u2019s insurance policy. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

    HUEX GRAVEL RIDE<\/h4>

    The following bicycles are permitted:<\/p>

    • \u2022 Gravel bikes<\/p><\/li>

    • \u2022 Mountain bikes (MTB)<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

      The spirit of the Ride is personal challenge and self-sufficiency rather than direct competition.<\/p>

      The use of electric bicycles (e-bikes) is not permitted unless the Organisation creates a specific category and announces it in advance.<\/p>

      HUEX GRAVEL RACE<\/h4>

      The Race category is exclusively reserved for Gravel bikes.<\/strong><\/p>

      The following are not permitted:<\/p>

      • \u2022 Mountain bikes (MTB)<\/p><\/li>

      • \u2022 Electric bicycles (e-bikes)<\/p><\/li>

      • \u2022 Any bicycle equipped with electric assistance of any kind<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

        The HUEX GRAVEL route takes place on rural roads, gravel tracks, secondary roads, and sections open to public traffic.<\/p>

        All participants must comply with the applicable traffic regulations at all times.<\/p>

        The event does not take place on closed roads or a closed circuit.<\/p>

        HUEX GRAVEL RIDE<\/h4>

        The route will not be signposted.<\/p>

        The use of a GPS device loaded with the official track provided by the Organisation is mandatory.<\/p>

        Correct navigation is the sole responsibility of the participant.<\/p>

        In the event of leaving the official route, participants must return to the exact point where the deviation occurred before continuing.<\/p>

        Any deliberate shortcut or voluntary deviation from the official route will result in immediate disqualification.<\/p>

        HUEX GRAVEL RACE <\/h4>

        The Race category will include:<\/p>

        • \u2022 Mandatory official GPS track<\/p><\/li>

        • \u2022 Specific signage at strategic junctions<\/strong><\/p><\/li>

        • \u2022 Specific signage in areas of particular danger<\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ul>

          However, the use of a GPS device is mandatory.<\/strong><\/p>

          The absence of signage at any point does not exempt participants from following the official track.
          <\/p>

          Leaving the official route or deliberately taking shortcuts will result in a penalty or disqualification.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

          The HUEX Gravel Ride category is governed by the principle of full self-sufficiency.<\/p>

          This means that:<\/p>

          • \u2022 Personalised external assistance is not permitted.<\/p><\/li>

          • \u2022 Personal support vehicles are not permitted.<\/p><\/li>

          • \u2022 Receiving private logistical support during the event is not permitted.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

            Participants may only use:<\/p>

            • \u2022 Services open to the public (caf\u00e9s, restaurants, shops, accommodation, bicycle repair shops, etc.).<\/p><\/li>

            • \u2022 Resources that are legally and publicly available within the surrounding environment.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

              Any form of organised assistance, private support crew, or external support will result in disqualification.<\/p>

              HUEX GRAVEL RIDE <\/h4>

              The HUEX Gravel Ride category will feature a single Life Point, which all participants must pass through.<\/p>

              More than just a checkpoint, the Life Point is a strategic stop in the heart of the adventure. It\u2019s a place designed to recharge, reorganize your gear, and prepare to tackle the second half of the route. <\/p>

              At Life Point, the organization will:<\/p>

              • Recording of passage using an electronic control system.<\/li>
              • Verification of compliance with the official route.<\/li>
              • Security checks and monitoring of participants.<\/li><\/ul>

                You must pass through Life Point to be considered a finisher.<\/p>

                In addition, participants will find the following in this space:<\/p>

                • Pick up the life bag, which was previously turned in to the organization before the start of the event.<\/li>
                • A hot lunch or dinner provided by the organizers, depending on the participant’s scheduled arrival time.<\/li>
                • Water station for refilling water bottles and hydration systems.<\/li>
                • Rest and Recovery Area.<\/li>
                • A place to reorganize your gear before continuing the adventure.<\/li><\/ul>

                  The HUEX Gravel Ride remains true to its philosophy of self-reliance. The Life Point is not a traditional aid station, but rather a strategic support area where each participant manages their own nutrition, equipment, and planning using their Life Bag. <\/p>

                  HUEX GRAVEL RACE<\/h4>

                  The Race category will include three (3) official aid stations<\/strong> strategically located along the course.<\/p>

                  Consumption of food and drinks must take place within the designated aid station area.<\/p>

                  The Organisation will establish a closing time for each aid station, which will coincide with the official cut-off times.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

                  HUEX GRAVEL RIDE<\/h4>

                  HUEX Gravel Ride allows every participant complete freedom to manage their pace, rest periods and riding strategy.<\/p>

                  However, since this is a long-distance event that passes through remote and sensitive areas, the organizers will establish an official cutoff point at LIFE POINT, as well as a maximum time limit for completing the course.<\/p>

                  1. LIFE POINT \u2013 22 hours ( 8:00h Saturday)<\/strong><\/li>
                  2. FINIHS\u2013 55 hours (17:00h \u2013 Sunday)<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>

                    <\/p>

                    These limits are not intended to influence each rider\u2019s strategy, but to ensure the safety of participants and the operational viability of the event.<\/p>

                    This means that:<\/p>

                    • Participants are free to manage their time as they wish.<\/p><\/li>

                    • They may stop, rest, sleep or continue riding according to their own strategy.<\/p><\/li>

                    • But you must arrive at Life Point before the designated closing time.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

                      The purpose of this cutoff point is::<\/p>

                      • Ensure that no participant falls excessively behind in remote areas.<\/p><\/li>

                      • Guarantee the operational coverage of the event.<\/p><\/li>

                      • Allow for safe and effective rider tracking.<\/p><\/li>

                      • Maintain the logistical balance of the safety and support system.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

                        Anyone who does not reach the LIFE POINT within the designated time frame will be disqualified from official finisher status.<\/p>

                          • \u2022 Refuelling or receiving supplies outside public areas open to all participants<\/p><\/li>

                            All participants in the Ride category must carry the tracking device provided by the Organisation<\/p>

                            • \u2022 Enable real-time tracking<\/p><\/li>

                            • \u2022 Enhance participant safety<\/p><\/li>

                            • \u2022 Verify compliance with the official route<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

                              Any tampering with, deactivation of, or unreported loss of the tracking device will result in disqualification.<\/p>

                              HUEX GRAVEL RIDE<\/h4>

                              The Ride category is a self-supported endurance challenge focused on personal achievement.<\/p>

                              The following participation categories are established:<\/p>

                              • Individual<\/p><\/li>

                              • Pairs<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

                                For the Pairs category:<\/p>

                                • \u2022 Both participants must complete the entire route together.<\/p><\/li>

                                    All participants who complete the route within the established maximum time limit and comply with these regulations will be recognised as Official HUEX Gravel Ride Finishers.<\/p>

                                    The Ride category does not include a podium ceremony or cash prizes.<\/p>

                                    HUEX GRAVEL RACE<\/h4>

                                    The Race category is competitive and will feature an official classification.<\/p>

                                        Age categories are not cumulative.<\/p>

                                        For a subcategory to have its own standings, there must be at least 3 participants.
                                        Otherwise, participants will be included in the corresponding general category.<\/p>

                                        HUEX GRAVEL RIDE<\/h4>

                                        The Ride category is governed by the principles of self-sufficiency and individual responsibility.<\/p>

                                        Participants who decide to withdraw from the event must:<\/p>

                                        • \u2022 Notify the Organisation immediately<\/p><\/li>

                                        • \u2022 Provide their exact location<\/p><\/li>

                                        • Confirm that they are in a safe situation.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

                                          Failure to report a withdrawal may result in the unnecessary activation of the emergency protocol and will be considered a serious offence.<\/p>

                                          Withdrawn participants must arrange their own return using available public or private services.<\/p>

                                          The Organisation will only intervene in the event of a genuine emergency that compromises the participant\u2019s physical safety.<\/p>

                                          The tracking device must remain active until the Organisation has officially confirmed the withdrawal.<\/p>

                                          HUEX GRAVEL RACE <\/h4>

                                          Participants who withdraw from the Race must report their withdrawal at the next aid station or control point.<\/p>

                                          If the withdrawal takes place outside these points, participants must contact the Organisation immediately.<\/p>
