HUEX GRAVEL

These regulations may be corrected, modified, or improved at any time by the Organizing Committee, as may any information, rules, or sections necessary to ensure the optimal execution of the event. By completing the registration process, participants acknowledge and accept these Regulations.


These regulations must be strictly adhered to by all participants in the event known as HUEX GRAVEL. Any matter not covered herein shall be resolved by the HUEX GRAVEL Jury, the Race Director, a member of the organising committee and a representative of the riders.

HUEX GRAVEL is organised by TerraIncognita Global S.L.

The organisation reserves the right to amend these regulations at any time in order to guarantee participant safety, ensure the proper operation of the event, and adapt to any unforeseen circumstances.

Registration implies full acceptance of these regulations.

HUEX GRAVEL is a long-distance gravel cycling event held in two distinct formats:

  • HUEX Gravel Ride (self-supported format)

  • HUEX Gravel Race (competitive format)

The route follows gravel tracks, rural roads, and sections of secondary roads that remain open to regular traffic.

All participants must comply with the applicable traffic regulations at all times.

The event takes place in natural and rural environments. Respect for the environment, private property, and local communities is mandatory for all participants.

HUEX GRAVEL RIDE

LONG-DISTANCE SELF-SUPPORTED FORMAT

Participants are responsible for managing their own pace, rest, nutrition, and race strategy within the limits established by the organisation (Check Points and maximum time limits)

There are no organised aid stations as such; only mandatory checkpoints are provided..

This is not a competitive race format in the traditional sense.


HUEX GRAVEL RACE

Competitive race format.

Mass start, official timing, overall rankings, and category classifications.

Official aid stations are strategically located throughout the course.

This is a gravel race conducted under the applicable sporting regulations.

Participation in HUEX GRAVEL is restricted to individuals who are at least 18 years of age on the day of the event.

Registration will be considered valid once the official registration form has been completed and the corresponding entry fee has been paid.

Registration is personal and non-transferable.

Participants declare that they are in adequate physical and technical condition to undertake the event category in which they are registered and fully understand the demands of the course and the environment in which the event takes place.

Registration implies full acceptance of these regulations.

Participation in HUEX GRAVEL is restricted to individuals who are at least 18 years of age on the day of the event.

Registration will be considered valid once the official registration form has been completed and the corresponding entry fee has been paid.

Registration is personal and non-transferable.

Participants declare that they are in adequate physical and technical condition to undertake the event category in which they are registered and fully understand the demands of the course and the environment in which the event takes place.

Registration implies full acceptance of these regulations.

Once registration has been completed, 50% of the registration fee will be refunded up to 30 days before the event. After this date, no refunds will be issued unless the participant has purchased cancellation insurance.

At the time of registration, participants may purchase a cancellation insurance policy that allows them to receive a 100% refund of their basic entry fee in the event of withdrawal up to 15 days before the event.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after this deadline.

All refunds will be made within 30 days from the date of acceptance of the request.

Once a withdrawal request has been submitted, the entry will be released and returned to the Organisation, which may reassign it to the first participant on the waiting list, should one exist at that time.

HUEX GRAVEL RIDE

The following bicycles are permitted:

  • • Gravel bikes

  • • Mountain bikes (MTB)

The spirit of the Ride is personal challenge and self-sufficiency rather than direct competition.

The use of electric bicycles (e-bikes) is not permitted unless the Organisation creates a specific category and announces it in advance.


HUEX GRAVEL RACE

The Race category is exclusively reserved for Gravel bikes.

The following are not permitted:

  • • Mountain bikes (MTB)

  • • Electric bicycles (e-bikes)

  • • Any bicycle equipped with electric assistance of any kind

The Organisation reserves the right to carry out technical inspections prior to the start of the event.

The HUEX GRAVEL route takes place on rural roads, gravel tracks, secondary roads, and sections open to public traffic.

All participants must comply with the applicable traffic regulations at all times.

The event does not take place on closed roads or a closed circuit.

HUEX GRAVEL RIDE

The route will not be signposted.

The use of a GPS device loaded with the official track provided by the Organisation is mandatory.

Correct navigation is the sole responsibility of the participant.

In the event of leaving the official route, participants must return to the exact point where the deviation occurred before continuing.

Any deliberate shortcut or voluntary deviation from the official route will result in immediate disqualification.


HUEX GRAVEL RACE

The Race category will include:

  • • Mandatory official GPS track

  • • Specific signage at strategic junctions

  • • Specific signage in areas of particular danger

However, the use of a GPS device is mandatory.

The absence of signage at any point does not exempt participants from following the official track.

Leaving the official route or deliberately taking shortcuts will result in a penalty or disqualification.

The HUEX Gravel Ride category is governed by the principle of full self-sufficiency.

This means that:

  • • Personalised external assistance is not permitted.

  • • Personal support vehicles are not permitted.

  • • Receiving private logistical support during the event is not permitted.

Participants may only use:

  • • Services open to the public (cafés, restaurants, shops, accommodation, bicycle repair shops, etc.).

  • • Resources that are legally and publicly available within the surrounding environment.

Any form of organised assistance, private support crew, or external support will result in disqualification.

Self-sufficiency is an essential part of the challenge.

The HUEX Gravel Ride category is governed by the principle of full self-sufficiency.

This means that:

  • • Personalised external assistance is not permitted.

  • • Personal support vehicles are not permitted.

  • • Receiving private logistical support during the event is not permitted.

Participants may only use:

  • • Services open to the public (cafés, restaurants, shops, accommodation, bicycle repair shops, etc.).

  • • Resources that are legally and publicly available within the surrounding environment.

Any form of organised assistance, private support crew, or external support will result in disqualification.

Self-sufficiency is an essential part of the challenge.

HUEX GRAVEL RIDE

The Ride category will feature three (3) official mandatory checkpoints spread along the route.

At each Check Point:

  • Participant passage will be recorded through an electronic timing and tracking system.

  • Compliance with the official route will be verified.

  • Safety monitoring and participant tracking will be carried out throughout the event.

Passing through all Check Points is mandatory in order to be officially recognised as a finisher.

The following facilities will be available at these points:

  • • Designated rest area

  • • Water refill point

  • • Basic recovery area

The Check Points shall not be considered official aid stations. No food or nutritional products will be provided.

Participants are solely responsible for managing their own nutrition and logistics throughout the event.


HUEX GRAVEL RACE

The Race category will include three (3) official aid stations strategically located along the course.

Consumption of food and drinks must take place within the designated aid station area.

The Organisation will establish a closing time for each aid station, which will coincide with the official cut-off times.

HUEX GRAVEL RIDE

The Ride category is a self-supported endurance challenge focused on personal achievement.

The following participation categories are established:

  • Individual

  • Pairs

For the Pairs category:

  • • Both participants must complete the entire route together.

  • • Prolonged voluntary separation is not permitted.

  • • Check Points must be reached and passed together.

No age-group categories or gender divisions w

There will be no competitive ranking, podiums, or prizes.

The Organisation will publish:

  • • Finishing order

  • • Total elapsed time

  • • Official list of finishers

All participants who complete the route within the established maximum time limit and comply with these regulations will be recognised as Official HUEX Gravel Ride Finishers.

The Ride category does not include a podium ceremony or cash prizes.


HUEX GRAVEL RACE

The Race category is competitive and will feature an official classification.

The following participation categories are established:

General Categories:

  • • Men’s Individual

  • • Women’s Individual

Age Categories:

  • • Under-23 (18–22 years)

  • • Elite (23–29 years)

  • • Master 30 (30–39 years)

  • • Master 40 (40–49 years)

  • • Master 50 (50–59 years)

  • • Master 60 (60 years and over)

Age categories are not cumulative.

For an age category classification to be established, a minimum of three (3) participants must be registered in that category.If this minimum is not met, participants will be included in the corresponding overall category.

Rankings will be determined based on the official finish time recorded at the finish line.

HUEX GRAVEL RIDE

The Ride category is based on the principle of full self-sufficiency.

The following are not permitted:

  • • Personalised assistance

  • • Personal support vehicles

  • • Private logistical support or support crews

Participants may only make use of services that are open to the public and available along the route.

Any form of organised assistance will result in disqualification.


HUEX GRAVEL RACE

In the Race category, external assistance is not permitted outside the official areas designated by the Organisation.

The following are not permitted:

  • • Receiving assistance from private vehicles

  • • Refuelling or receiving supplies outside public areas open to all participants

  • • Receiving unauthorised external mechanical assistance

HUEX GRAVEL RIDE

All participants in the Ride category must carry the tracking device provided by the Organisation

The device will:

  • • Enable real-time tracking

  • • Enhance participant safety

  • • Verify compliance with the official route

Any tampering with, deactivation of, or unreported loss of the tracking device will result in disqualification.

For the Race category, the Organisation may implement an official timing and GPS tracking system if deemed necessary.

HUEX GRAVEL RIDE

The Ride category is governed by the principles of self-sufficiency and individual responsibility.

Participants who decide to withdraw from the event must:

  • • Notify the Organisation immediately

  • • Provide their exact location

  • Confirm that they are in a safe situation.

Failure to report a withdrawal may result in the unnecessary activation of the emergency protocol and will be considered a serious offence.

Withdrawn participants must arrange their own return using available public or private services.

The Organisation will only intervene in the event of a genuine emergency that compromises the participant’s physical safety.

The tracking device must remain active until the Organisation has officially confirmed the withdrawal.


HUEX GRAVEL RACE

Participants who withdraw from the Race must report their withdrawal at the next aid station or control point.

If the withdrawal takes place outside these points, participants must contact the Organisation immediately.

The race bib and timing system must be returned in accordance with the Organisation’s instructions.

The Organisation will provide medical and safety support coordinated with the relevant emergency services.

The medical team may:

  • • Withdraw any participant deemed unfit to continue

  • • Order evacuation

  • • Request a medical examination at any point along the course.

The decision of the medical team shall be final and binding.

Refusal to undergo a medical examination will result in immediate disqualification.

HUEX GRAVEL takes place in natural environments.

Participants are required to:

  • • Not leave any litter or waste on the course.

  • • Remain on the official route at all times.

  • • Respect local wildlife and vegetation.

  • • Respect livestock and agricultural operations.

  • • Close all gates and barriers after passing through them.

  • • Respect landowners and local communities.

It is strictly forbidden to discard wrappers, food waste, or any other type of litter along the course.

Any behaviour showing disrespect towards the environment, local communities, or private property will result in immediate disqualification.

Zero tolerance policy.

The Organisation may impose penalties or disqualifications in the following situations:

  • • Deliberately taking shortcuts or deviating from the official route.

  • • Use of any means of transport other than the participant’s bicycle.

  • • Receiving unauthorised external assistance.

  • • Tampering with the tracking device.

  • • Failure to comply with applicable traffic regulations.

  • • Unsportsmanlike conduct

  • • Withdrawal without notifying the Organisation

  • • Failure to pass through a Check Point

  • • Failure to carry mandatory equipment

Sanctions may include:

  • • Time penalty (Race category)

  • Descalificación.

  • • Ban from participating in future editions

The decision of the Race Direction shall be final and binding.

The Organisation reserves the right to:

  • • Modify the route.

  • • Change schedules and time limits.

  • • Neutralise the event.

  • • Partially or fully suspend the event.

Any such measures may be taken for reasons related to weather conditions, participant safety, or force majeure.

These circumstances shall not entitle participants to a refund of their entry fee.

Participation in HUEX GRAVEL implies the voluntary acceptance of the risks inherent in a long-distance cycling event held in an open environment.

Each participant assumes full responsibility for any accident, injury, loss, or damage that they may suffer or cause to third parties.

The Organisation accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal property or equipment.

By registering for the event, participants grant the Organisation the right to use photographs, videos, and any audiovisual material captured during the event for promotional, marketing, and commercial purposes, without limitation in time or territory.

Any external audiovisual, photographic, or media project related to the event must receive prior written authorisation from the Organisation.
